Here is what I started out with. I picked the truck up from a local guy here in Sultan Wa for $600 which I thought was a good price cause the truck is clean aside from a rust hole in the frame. No biggy though.

The truck needed the drivetrain in it so I picked up a 22R, L52 5 speed, and a top shift T-case. Got that setup for $500.

I got the motor/tranny/t-case in a few weeks ago and I'll get pics on that. I still need to get a crossmember, get extended brake line in the rear, bolt up d-shafts, and time the motor and the truck will drive.

Also wired up a set of red lights underneath the dash, and some rear rock lights, which is sweet.

Holy monster bodylift :yikes:  Good start on the truck though!  Where'd you get the idea for the red lights under the dash?  I put some in mine a couple weeks ago that come on with the dome light.  Really helps with the ultra dim stock dome light.

Ya, the bodylift was put in for a buick 231 but I took the bodylift out. My brothers truck had the red lights in his truck and I kept trying to buy them off of him. I ended up finding them at a local parts store for $4 apiece. I took the aluminum dash piece out cause it was bent to hell. Thanks guys.

Alright, sorry about the long wait.  :outtahere: Got the motor running, got an extended brakeline, got d-shafts bolted up, got new clutch slave cylinder, got the brakes bleed, same with the clutch. The motor is hard to start, it acts like its not getting fuel but the fuel filter is getting fuel. Rebuild the carb??? :headscratch:

Nevermind :shake:  I just re-read your previous post.  Strange that they used a big bodylift to clear that engine, really shouldn't need a bodylift to clear a 231.

Build thread revival, this truck is a basically a zombie. It was built 2 times, parted out and sold to be bought back again to build a full body truggy. First real stage of driving this truck was a 20r w/ a Weber carb, L52, stock axles, high steer, RUF's and S10 springs in the back with some worn out BFG 35's. Hardly out any miles on it in this form...

That last pic was actually during build number 2. This comes with a built 22RE(40 over, OS valves and a 278cam), W56, duals, IFS rear end, FJ60 front end with 5.29 gears on 37" MTR's and raceline renegades. This version got driven more but still not enough. No more than 3k miles.

Now onto why It got parted out and sold. I had just bought a 2005 double cab Tacoma. 3" lift, fully armored, 4.0L V6 and a 6 speed manual trans. I got the wild idea to solid axle this truck and had a hi pinion 60 driver drop in my garage. Going tons and links was gonna be spendy so I parted out the 1st gen. While wheeling the Tacoma around the PNW I realized it's just too big for up here... While searching for a donor truck to build a truggy out of I got a message from the guy I sold the body and frame to asking me if I want it back. I bought it back and while I was at it got the motor back from another friend. With the money I got from parting out the 1st gen I bought all of my link parts. So now with a pile of parts and my chasis back it's time for phase 3... Here is the mistress. DC on 37's.
