Budbuilt crossmember hex screws problem
« on: Nov 11, 2007, 02:52:20 PM »
Thought it would be an hour to pull my rear transfercase mount  and install new one but not the case. If anyone is familiar with the older style Budbuilt crossmember maybe you could help me out.

I removed the skid plate that is screwed to the crossmember via hex screws w/o incident. However, I cannot get the dang screws loose that go up through crossmember and into the bottom of the t/c mount. I've bathed them for two days now but i'm just deforming allen wrench or starting to round out hex head.

What do you recommend?

Tack weld a nut to the allen bolt and use a 6 point socket. Then replace the allen head bolt and use anti seize.
