Anyone make something that come from your diff to protect your ujoints at the base of your driveshaft.  Almost like a sleeve...  Yea so is there anything out there, or would there be too much of an issue with buildup around the drive shaft?

I can't see how a "sleeve" would work. that wouldn't allow the ujoint to work...it would lock it in one position.

only thing I've seen is the D44 diff skid from Nth Degree it sticks forward enough to protect it.

i'm pretty sure thats what he's talking about. doesnt connect to the driveshaft/u-joint, just protects it from being smashed on the rocks

Look up "Nth Degree Mobility" you'll find your ideas there...

I found them and their perfect but I cant seem to find a list of available skids to see if they make them for my axles.  I have so much money tied up in my drive shafts especially the joints and I would like to protect them better....   The problem I seem to be having when I try to goto their website it takes me to aevs site and an article that aev purchased them but then I cant find any products?  Anybody else been able to find somewhere that I can find a list of available skids?  I have found them for the common jeep apps but I am doubting that they carrie a 10bolt 14bolt combo... may have to fab something up...

I've seen them on 14Bs and nine inch Fords too.  Both of those rear ends have bolt in pinions and that is how they are mounted.  I've never seen one for Toys or ten bolts...

I doubt they have them for me,  probably going to have to build one...   My 14 bolt is the 9.5in sf and doesnt have the bolt on pinion.  I thought about using the sleve from a pto shaft, it would mount the the driveshaft and its a round heavy plastic boot, but it still may keep the joint from damage since the boot can wedge on something and thenthe shaft can rotate inside...

Hard to see, but this guy made a skid plate that bolted to the third member bolts and wrapped up around the drive shaft. He figured that even if he hit it hard enough to bend it, the u-joint would be protected.

I will probably have to do something like that but since I dont have a third I will probably weld it to my diff cover, its half inch material so I could probably weld a half in or 3/8 in plate to it that wraps up around front...   I third would be much easier to work with though at least to keep from loosing ground clearance...
