pretty sure it has the same bellhousing. if it has the same bellhousing then the only other thing to be concerned about is if your t-case is a top shift or foreward shift. if its foreward you would need to convert it to a topshift, if its topshift no problem.
it needs new bearings, still works just fine but the bearings are making noise. i pulled it apart to check for any other possible damage and as you can see in the pics everything is just fine. post up the question in the toyota pickup/4runner section, 79-89, and somebody should know.

so new bearings and as you can see in the pic of the base of the shifter the bushing at the base of it needs replacement. syncroes never gave me any problems so could probably get by without replaceing them (check the pics in the link, if you want more pics i'll take more and post em up.)

hmm so i would have to worry about driveshaft issues.. When you say bearings which ones are you refering too. I can take every bolt out of a 22r-re motor and put them right back no problem, but i have no clue about trannys!!! Are there any other bearings besides the throwout?

Also did you reasemble everything that you took off in the pics? Im gonna get some more info about my t-case bolting up and that tranny bolting to the engine i have. Ill let you know.

you will need the clutch assembly (throwout bearing, pressure plate, and clutch disc) as well as the fork that holds the throwout bearing in place. the bearings i'm talking about are the ones inside the tranny that are on the shafts (you can see some of the bearings in the pictures). this is my 1st time tearing into a tranny, its actually quite simple to get as far as i did, i was just having a difficult time removing the snap rings on the end of both shafts to get the bearings off so i stopped there. i havent put it back together yet but when its purchased i'll reassemble it.
