I decided to sell my 1982 Toyota Pickup Shorbed.
This truck is rust free, exept for a a little on tailgate

$800 OBO Willows, Ca (NOR CAL)

I need the truck sold, dont have anymore time for it.

I was in the process of getting the truck registered and smogged, but havnt had the time.

It was required to be weighed, smogged, and light and # check by DMV
I got the truck weighed, it was 370 lbs over what the lady at the DMV guessed.

Now it only needs to be smogged and checked by the DMV.
After the three things are turned in (Weight, Smog, Check)
The lisence plates will be recieved in the mail from DMV and it will be good to go.

I do belive that it will smog and pass, but I recommend a pre-smog inspection first to be on the safe side.

The truck runs great, it starts right up no problem after I adjusted the Air Gap in the Distributor.

What it has

new starter
rebuilt carb
rebuilt master cylinder
rebuilt t-case, shifts great
new bosch spark plug
new Borg Warner Plug Wires
new Distriutor cap and rotor
Fram Air Filter
Oil change and filter
New NAPA 2 1/4" Soundmaster Exhaust
New Universal 2" catylitic converter
New Battery

Also

SR5 Tach gauge Cluster
159,XXX miles
35 inch tires on 15 inch white steelies (60% tread)
Sunroof, Sealed due to Weatherstripping leakage
Body just has small dents on it. Nothing Serious
4WD works great, 4sp tranny
No keys for doors

Could be Awesome Trail Truck

Just give me an offer straight up, all I can say is no.

heres a couple pics. I post new pics of it tonite whem my cameras batteries recharge.

The first pic is before I had the 35s on it

The second is me workin on it, before I put the bumpers back on

The third is the interior. There is no Heater AC or Vents but I have the blower motor and the switch and a custom box could be built for the heater. The driver door panel is gone

I had to Apply for a new title because it hadnt been registered in so long that it was no longer on the DMV computers. But the fees are all paid for. It currently has no plates on it, but will be acquired when the smog and #/light check is complete.

This is a super good deal considering I bought it for $600 not running then I fixed it up. Everyone told me it had no chance, but I showed them.

It will need a brake and light inspection as well as the VIN #s checked and smogged.

The brake and backup lights have a piece of the lens broken off on the corner, and I have aftermarket blinkers on the front.

I am NOT guarenteeing that it will smog. I havnt tried to.

You gotta get it titled and smogged.  IN CA, if it has both, you're talking $1500, easy.  (basically anything that runs and has smog in CA is worth $1000, minimum)

Lord Orange

I will give you 100$ for it, pick it up (trailer), dispose of it (crusher), you can keep the title, and your headache will be gone..

welll...  that post was friendly! /\  :-\

No Kiddin huh,  :shake_head: ::)

Well the sale is on hold for a while, as I am installing another engine and getting it smogged. Be aware though that I will up the price drastically.

don't sell it just sit on it tell you have cash to build it
Lets go camping

My dad once told me that every time you sell a vehicle, you lose about $500 on it.(registration, taxes, advertizing, minor fixes to the new one..)  So far, it's held true over the last 20+ years that I have been driving.(well, except for ONE car that I got lucky with).

I'd get it running and run around town in it.  Being that you're 17(from your profile), this is likely the first vehicle that you own that's 100% yours.  You should keep it and save yourself a ton of money for the next few years in college.  A few cans of paint, a shell on the back, and you're set for college in a year or so.  Or you can even gut the interior and do something like that metal dash that was posted here and coat it as well.

fatt_matt

what would the price jump too after you do the engine swap..
Jeep

the price jump will depend. It will be smogged and the title and plates and pink will be there

Its actually my fourth vehicle. I gonna try to convince my parents to let me keep it. Next year I'll be going to wyotech down in Sacramento, so my family gave me a 94 civic, and Im only aloud one vehicle. Its complicated

jimbo74

if it is titled and registered in CA the state will give you $500 to crush it

Civic or built and restored 4x4... ooo though choice.. lol.

(saves on U-Haul fees as well)

Honestly, though, it's cheap to learn and work on, and once running, hardly ever will break worse than you can fix it in a week or so.  Most modern cars are a nightmare of wires, modules, and so on.

If they want you to have airbags and all the nanny gizmos, you can always toss some bull bars on it.  Mine's sans airbags(only owned ONE car, ever, actually, that even had airbags) and it'll likely tear a hole through a Civic like a tin can.  And it's not really built up  like most of the rigs here.

I've been in many accidents in twenty+ years of driving and seat belts work.

Side airbags?  I have 3 inch nerf bars welded to the frame :)  If it gets through that, it's either lifted a foot or a semi/wouldn't have mattered anyways.

Your dad hasn't met me :gap:  My dad would tell you that I typically make a fair chunk of change when selling cars.  Only lost money on one truck, but all the others have more than made up for that.

I'm guessing no smog, brake, light and VIN verification = not registered.

correct, but Im swapping in a carbureted 22R from an 87 2WD that smogged with flying colors back in May

Plekto

Then you should be good to go.  Perfect car for college.  Let those yuppies eat themselves into debt with their car payments.  :)
