how do I get images out of "my pictures" to marlin forum so I can change my pic?

The file upload support for this forum only fuctions for posts, not the avatars. You will need to have your picture remotely hosted somewhere on the internet, and then link direct to it for your avatar in your profile.

Do this. post your avatar pic in this thread. right click on it to get properties. select the url. paste it in the box for avatar in your profile.

As long as the pic stays in the thread or BigMike does not delete attachments it will work.

so now where is the spot to load your personal avitar..It says it can be done but I don't see where you load it...any ideas or is it a wait till the fourm is done thing? :'(

Wow, I dont know where the field went.

You know, I installed some 'supermodfications pack' and it was supposed to give me the power of over 70 modifications but their are many things that I cant disable. It took me about 40mins around 3AM this morning just to remove some stupid 'what is your mood' thing. Believe me it was dumb. Php is a lot more difficult to locate things as compared to c++/cgi/perl.

OK

I got it fixed and updated your profile to include your old avatar.

Its alot more involved now. I first do the typical searching around the board source files for where the html code is used but instead of being able to simply modify that, I now have to log into my SQL database and manually go line by line to find the variable and then change its value.

Now this new board allows you to upload an picture to use as your avitar directly from your harddrive. You dont have to remotely host a pic somewhere else and then link to it. Now all you have to do is just go to your profile and upload a pic and your set
