Hello

I have an 84 mini truck all stock, 22r carb 5 sp solid axle.  I also have an 87 4 runner 22re 5 sp ifs.  The engine in the runner is shot as is the body.  I would like to know what is interchangeable between the two.

Thank you in advance.

In a word, everything.  Well everything except the front end but who would do that anyway??  If you want to use the re out of the runner just swap the whole harness into the truck.  Simple job just time consuming.  Youd also have to clean a few wires out of the runner harness, such as the rear window motor wires and a few other runner only options but its real easy overall.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

Well sort of. The 87 has a w56 trans. Stronger than what is in the carb truck, but it is a forward shift. You may need to cut new holes in the floor if you swap that in. The fuel tank on the 87 has an electric pump inside. Good if you plan to put EFI in the mini. Not sure if it mounts the same way. The rear axle on the IFS is wider and the breaks are bigger. The rear driveshaft should have a larger bolt patern than the older mini
You could also use the IFS front brake calipers on the solid axle, if you swap to vented rotors from Land Cruiser. IFS steering box for crossover steering. use the T cases for dual case setup. Posibly the seats. Does the 4runner have a clinometer? Don't let that go, unless it's to me!!

What did you want to do? are you just trying to figure out what to keep before you scrap it?

you've got it backwards, the '85's G52 tranny is forward shift, the W56 is top shift

If I were to do it all over agin, I would have built up the 4runner rather than the pickup.  The pickup looks cool as hell stealth black and bobbed, but the runner gives you more room.  I am a tool/spare parts freak on the trail and everyone usually comes to me for help.  We go on a lot of tent and tarp/run what ya brung runs and it would be real nice to carry everything inside.
