Anybody ever bought transfercase from pick n pull ?
« on: Sep 23, 2007, 04:06:41 PM »
I am just asking because I saw a top shift 21 spline transfercase at pick n pull today there price list says
$114.00. Is this a good price? It went in all gears but was missing a snap ring on the input bearing outer race.
I am only looking for one for a second transfercase. I think I might wait for there half off sale(I hid it in another car if I wanted to come back for it) so it should still be there in a couple of weeks.

There half off price would be around $57.00 if it is still there in a few weeks. I hid it really good.

Call around at other pik n pulls around you. I found a perfect forward shift in chico for $85 from Chico self Serve. All I had to do was switch the shift rails, which I already had.

must be nice, junkies around here wanted $600 for a used w-56 and $300 for a transfer case, non-negotiable, they are more like parts pimps instead of junkyards.

Sorry to hear about those prices from the parts Nazis. I still have not bought it it is hiding in another car. Usually when I go there all the Toyota's are picked clean. I may go get it this weekend do you want to buy it for $300.00 ?

right after my 43 4 speed blew up. i got a l45 w/transfer case for $400. put it in the truck and tested it. tranfercase was fine .. tranny was junk. called junkyard said bring it back and they'd give me a 5 speed w/transfer case.. anyway i ended up with both ...and then i found a really good L52 with tranfercase. so now i have three spare transfer case's..  are these any good for anything other than the gen one trucks?

Nope there no good if you want you can ship them to me I will pay the freight.  No they look like the standard transfercase with the transmission tailshaft housing still bolted to it. I know there are differences but I believe there minor like driveline flange bolt hole size. You should try to sell them or make a crawlbox out of one.

Well I got it yestarday for $57.00 + $14.00 core and $10.00 shifter and tax. The bad thing is I had to carry it for 300 yards because they are out of wheel barrows so my shoulders are sore today. There is a lot of toyotas in the stocton picknpull but all the good stuff is gone already.

same here.. one wreaking yard here now and parts are high!! that's why everytime someone pulls in  with an old toy i ask them what they're doing for parts and if they've got old parts rigs. i could buy another old rig for the price the yard wants just for a rear axle!!!  I'm dreaming to find a wreaked 3RZ with in the year.
