Putting EFI on 20R....Possible?
« on: Sep 09, 2007, 04:25:56 PM »
Can I take the fuel injection setup off my 87 and put it on a 20R Yota?  Dont ask why......PLEASE?  I know the first reply is gonna be why!  LOL!!

Will the EFI intake bolt up to the 20R head?  Thanks in advance.

I think you could adapt a lot of the EFI parts to it, but you would have to make some kind of adapter or a whole intake manifold.
Retiring the 91
Rebuilding the 94

I think it might be possible.  Everyone has heard of the hybrid 20/22r right?  well if an earlier head, such as an 84' set up, why wouldn't that be possible?

because that is a waste of space.  People put a 20R head on a 22R block for the better flow of the head, and the increased bore of the block.  Doing it the other way around is backwards if you are looking for power.  You'd end up with an EFI engine, but one with a small bore, and a head that doesn't flow very well.

true but isn't that the ultimate goal here.  He wants an EFI

i understand that, but he would still be at a disadvantage due to loss of power.
