I also taught him how to put in 5min of hard work and then spend 15min staring and admiring what you have done...

got the truck from a young kid and he got it from an older man. The interior was in good shape. No rips in the seats and panels.

I always wondered why they to that over there. whats up with that?
this 4runner is looking very good though...setting a good example for all those 10" lift and 31's crowd...

this runner was built on a budget. My friend bought my front and rear sus. He owns one of biggest trans shops on the island. I referred about 10 guy's from my job and he bought my suspention. He gave me the tires that i'm running. My cousin gave me the 15x10 rims. The only thing that i bought was the high pinion front from the same friend that came with yucon 5.29's and a lock right locker. Being that he deals directly with Randy's ring and pinion, i got everything cheap. The rear member he ordered the gears and lockers too. He even installed the front and rear for me in the 3rd member. I bought the 83 front axle from him too. My cousin that gave me the rims did all the welding. i cut and grinded off the slack metal before he started welding. I'm saving money to complete my dual t-case.

Sweet runner! I agree you are showing the typical hawaii yotas up! Good job. I dont know what kind of wheeling you have down there in Hawaii but if your truck sees hard use you may want to consider plating your frame from the steering box back. Tearing shock mounts off is always a bummer!!  :willynilly:

Anyway nice rig. Look foreward to seeing what kind of wheeling you guys have over there, i have always wondered.

46&2

Trace the shape of your frame from the front most body mount all the way to the end of your inner fender onto some cardboard. Then find some 3/4-1/2 inch steel and trace the shape onto the steel and cut it out. Then remove your PS box, cut off your shock towers and weld this new piece of steel along your frame. Then put everything back on. It just helps reinforce the frame so you dont tear your PS box or your shock towers and a chunk of your frame off. Its not ABSOLUTELY necessary but it is a good idea. I have seen a lot of frame damage from lack of frame bracing. Marlin Crawler sells a PS brace kit on their steering page. If you buy that then you can just measure after installing the PS box brace. That is what I did. Also on the passenger side there is a VIN number on the frame so its a good idea to make sure you cut a hole so your vin is showing.

Check out this page of ibz134's Taco build up. He tore his shock mounts right off and it will also give you a good idea of what I am talking about.

If you dont do a lot of hard wheeling you probably dont need to worry about it, I just did it to be safe.

Did the front bumper and sliders in 3 hrs the day before. The small stinger on the front saved the radiator and front end.
