distributor drive gear question.
« on: Sep 04, 2007, 03:11:54 PM »
i  installed an adjustable LC cam timimg gear and removed the fuel pump ecentric drive from the cam. it seemed to change the distributor drive gear alignment a little. is this going to be a problem?  the instructions said to remove it. but i'm just wondering if i might be missing some detail that could cause a problem. the engine seems to be running fine, but i still need to dial it in. this is on a 20r head.

thanks.. advanced cam timing 4 degrees.. going to see if that brings the powerband down a few rpm's. driving it to work today and I'll see what it dose.

trucks running good.. the drive seemed to be working fine but was still driving me crazy.. short drive some days.. anyway cut the center out of a fuel pump concentric drive and made a spacer for the distributor drive. seems to line up better, and peace of mind restored.
