I'm not entirely sure this is true.  I have never seen it done, and the angles probably wouldn't match, but just looking at it, I can't think of a reason it wouldn't work.  I've been curious about it myself.

I not say this will work for a Toyota  :dunno: but I did see in a Four Wheeler mag about 5 years ago a 90's full size Chevy with a SAS & he kept the ifs links  :twocents:

He'd only be able to use the tie rod,not the drag link.

if you had to u could use the stock push/pull steering system that came on the solid axle trucks, but you would have to use the old steering box as well. if you do that keep ahold of your IFS box because you will need it when you go to crossover steering.

You would have to make a drag link and connect to the stock tie rod. Don't think it would be to difficult. Its the cheap easy way. Its hard to see but that whats Brian did in his F-toy.

one of the guys i wheel with modified his steering arm on the passengers side to where he could use a drag link above the leaf spring connecting to the stok ifs box and then to the passenger side steering arm keeping the existing tie rod below the leaf spring. it was actually pretty simple and was just a matter of cutting up another steering arm he had laying around  and welding it up to the passengers side arm. ill look for pictures...

Ok, so, this is a bad idea.......you take off the stock solid axle tie rod and flip it around, then the hole for the shock is on the other side, get a tapered reamer to make a stock TRE in the hole, buy the new pitman arm that you will need nomatter what. take another stock SFA tie rod, cut it down and bend it to fit between the springs and go from TRE with extra hole to pitman arm....now you have CRAPPY zuki style steering, same setup used on heeps to I think
Sand, what fun, drop pressure to 12psi, stock tires are still digging, can't afford to get stuck, 8psi, still not working. Find a place to GET OUT, air up, un-lock hubs,  WAIT whats this, hubs are UN-LOCKED already. 2wd, 8psi, stock tires, Oregon sand dunes.
