Steering Stabalizer
« on: Jul 24, 2007, 01:31:05 PM »
Hey, I am just getting ready to do the lift on my runner and I was wondering what the best way to mount the stabilizer?? I have seen it with one side of the mount welded to the top of the u-bolt plate and the shock going to the tie rod. I was planning on mounting it this way but wanted some opinions before I did it.

Also do you guys know which spring perch the spacer goes on?? I think that it is the driver side but I wanted to be sure.

Thanks for any info.

I would suggest mounting one end of the shock mount to the frame and the other end to the drag link. I have a steering stabalizer for sale in the parts for sale section, I'm only asking 60 bucks, check it out if your interested.

Do you already have the stabilizer?  You might try it without one at first.  I don't have one with my hi-steer and mine steers fine without one.

If your truck is drive regularly on the road I would recommend a steering stabilizer.

Thanks for all the replies, I do already have the stabilizer, it came with the lift kit. MiniSimp thanks for the pic. I will follow your example and mount it that way. On saturday I got all the rear of the lift done and I will do the front on monday. I will post a build up thread on everything when I am done.

this is a picture form all pros site showing the crossover steering... i think its the same as minisimps, but the picture is a little bit more close up and directed....
