Hi all, I am planning this over on ultimate yota and wanted to put the invite out here. All makes and models are welcome.:) Maybe if you can't make SNT, this is the beach trip for you or maybe you need to get a prerun in for SNT.;)
Planning Thread
I will also keep this post updated with new info if there is any interest.

Ladies and gents,
It's time for the Fifth Annual Pismo 4RJ! This trip will be planned by locals like me and Cabbage as well as the same guys who planned the previous 4RJs, so you know its gonna be good!
Dates of event: October 12th-14th, 2007
Location: Oceano Dunes SVRA, CA

(Reservations)
http://www.reserveamerica.com/ca/Oceano_Dunes_Svra/Campground/r/campgroundDetails.do?subTabIndex=0&agency=CA&parkId=120065
Price to camp is $10.00 per night and it covers one vehicle and one legally towed vehicle.
Day use is $5.00 or you can buy a year pass for $50.00 that is good for all California SVRAs. Day use passes are good till 11pm.

Camp Area Info:

Once you are in the park, head South down the beach.  The camp area will be right at pole #6.
The camp will be between the high tide line and the restrooms which are a couple hundred yards in towards the dunes.  We should be the biggest group out there that weekend so we should be pretty easy to spot.
For those that have GPS here are the coordinates:

this  sounds sweet   im gonna try to make it
Lets shoot fireballs at it !!

OH man, we're  gonna get so  busted!!!

slosurfer

Who would be interested in having Clam Chowder Bread Bowls from Splash Cafe delivered out to us for dinner on Sat.(actually I would go pick it up)?  I just got off the phone with Joanne at Splash Cafe and she can cut us a deal, it will be $4.75 per breadbowl (normally $5.70) and she is throwing in all the utensils, napkins, etc...    For those that don't like clam chowder, we can call in your orders for other stuff and I can pick it up when I pick the chowder and bread bowls.

Splash Cafe Menu

Let me know what you guys think.  If you haven't had their chowder, it is awesome and has been somewhat of a tradition to go eat there during other P4RJ's   This way, we are getting a better deal, plus you don't have to deal with airing up, going into town, and dealing with parking, etc...

I don't have to get a final count till a few days before, but I am trying to get a guess at the number.  Let me know if you would be interested.

Chris sounds like everything is coming along. I'm still trying to decide if I want to bring my Runner or Tacoma with my dirt bike. A SA would really suck in the whoops!!

If I had to choose between the two, I would bring the taco and bike.  Funner in the dunes and more comfortable for the drive down and back. Those taco sport seats are so comfortable, I really want to see if I can get a set for my 4runner.

But then again, it would be cool to show off your 4runner, I think it would do fine in the dunes.  At SNT, there are tons of solid axle rigs out there bombing around.

I'll add you to the list!  Firewood would be sweet, just make sure none of it has nails in it (you can imagine where the nails will eventually end up).  I'll pm about the lumber, when it gets closer to the event.

:yikes:  10! LOL, yes there is plenty of room out there.  We may make you camp away from us with that many family members. J/K

For camping, you will need to pay per vehicle, unless some are being towed on.  Don't know if you have been to Pismo or not, you basically pay to camp, there are no "campsites".  Probably mid september, I will have a good description of where the camp will be.

Oh and I believe the biggest shirt size is 3XL.

Tshirt orders need to be in by Sept. 9th!
Ordering info and available sizes, etc... is located in the first post.  Also, feel free to PM me if you have any questions.  You will actually have till probably the 10th possibly the 11th, because I will be on the Mojave Road trail from Fri. to Sun. (so I won't be working on the shirts this weekend:hillbill: )

Just as an FYI, I am not making $$ off these shirts, if for some reason there is cash left over after I pay for shipping, I will put it towards a shirt or something for the raffle.

Also, if you haven't lately, check out the raffle prizes from all the amazing vendors in this business.  :beerchug:

Thanks for the info Tracker.  Also you are not required to have a flag/pole but it is a good idea.  So basically there are no requirements as far as the park goes other than safety.  Obviously front and rear tow hooks, snatch strap, cb, etc... would be smart to have.

Bigarms, thanks I'll add your vehicle to your name.

slowheelin and I did an improptu prerun for the event.  We checked out our proposed camp area and the sand highway.  We also ran out to Hi mtn. lookout, did a little bit of Garcia Ridge, and did the last part of hi mtn rd. out to Pozo.  I'll have to coordinates and description of our camp area later tonight or tomorrow (whenever I go get my gps out of the 4runner).  I'll have pics of the tshirts tomorrow also (I tried to take pics tonight, but the flash was just whiting it all out), they'll photograph better in the morning daylight.
