Bought this '88 Ext cab for $950 off a friend, its EFI and is really reliable.  Problems are the clutch is on its last leg, exhaust makes terrible noises sometimes, suspension is stock and a little saggy, and sometimes it idles bad and if I hit the gas hard it'll blow light smoke, but only when I hit it hard.
Here's the plan.  I want a truck I can use as my DD, and haul tools and fab equipment around in.  I'll scrap the rusted bed and fab a flat bed that I can mount a welder and generator to, and also leave a place near the bumper that I can mount my tubing bender on and maybe be a mini-mobile shop.  I am starting to do side jobs for bumpers and cages and stuff and this would be an ideal setup.  I also want it to look the part, so I want it lifted with steel wheels and some Goodyears on it like my trail rig.  I'm thinking Downeys 26mm torsion bars for a 2" or 3" cranked in lift, and their 3" lift springs in the back (only cuz Marlin doesn't carry mild stuff :turtle3: I don't like Downey)! Then I'll run some 32" rubber on black steelies, and throw a new clutch, intake and maybe headers and exhaust on soon after.  Any suggestions?  Or opinions? Maybe I should sink the money and do a SAS for fun??

Leaky 3rd Member and transmission, I'll have to go buy more silicone.  I'll hold off on the transmission leak till i can get a clutch to replace the wore out stock one.
