Man I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what size springs to run on my 85 i want to be able to clear 35's without a problem but i was told 4 inch springs and 5.5 shackles and then told 6 inch springs and 5.5 shackles but i don't know how much lift that is  :dunno: or any thing i just know i want to get on a trail and make these jeeps look silly and flex with out ruining the tire i put on my rig and she will be my dd just thought you all should know that any help and or pics would be nice pics would help the issue out allot i cant seem to find any pics with these setups thanks in advance

With a sport like rock crawling, I suggest keeping your rig as low as possible. :twocents:

and move the front axle forward 1.5 iches for word

2" backspaced wheels, 1.5" wheel spacers = no problem.
Trim the body mount where the shackles hit.

Marlin 4" springs are tall to more than enough to clear 35's Big mike's got 4's and running 37's if I'm not mistaken. I'd like to see some more picks as well of other trucks with 4" and maybe a measurement axle to frame to compare. I'm in the same boat trying to decide on Marlin 4",s or rear's up front and adjust as needed to keep it low on 35's. Sorry didn't mean to jack your thread. :dunno:

I will try and post some pics for you. This will be the first time I have put them on the board so no guarantees.

Marlin 4 inch springs, I also redrilled the spring perches to move the axle an additional 1 1/4 forward. The springs have settled some but still clear 36's without problems.

dirtchicken

I got Marlins 4" springs with 36" Iroks with plenty of room.

I was running Marlin's 5" spring with 36 and had no problem. They are a nice riding spring!! :usa:
