Speedy's 83 build
« on: Jul 03, 2007, 06:58:35 PM »
Well it is mostly done but here is the bumper I built last weekend.  Not completely finished but here you go.  More details in the sig, but I will add to this later.  Cant see it in the pics but the bumper is bolted with 4 grade 8 bolts to the spring hanger and 2 on each side of the spring mounts.  the receiver for the winch plate will be gusseted but havent done it yet.  also the spring hanger is not finished, still need to round off the corners.

I like the way you braced the sides by the fenders / running light.

Where does it bolt up to on the frame ? Steering box bolts?

on each side it has two 9/16 bolts, one on either side of the side support.  the one in the rear goes through the frame, and the one in the front is tapped into the side 1/4 inch plate on the spring hanger.  You can see the bolt holes in the 3rd pic on the left side.  It also has 4 3/4" gr 8 bolts through the spring hanger.  the bumper is welded to the the piece of angle iron (in the first pic) via more angle iron that runs along the inside edge of the diamondplate to the base of the bumper (if that makes any sense)

thanks for the kudos guys
