Can it be done to a 22 RTE block?
is it worth it or should I just find a new block?
I only have one bad cylinder . . . do I resleeve all four or just the bad one?
any reliability issues?

thanks

the block can be bored  to .040  with no problems
,060  if  you use a bigger radiator

no  that should be fine,  ask  your machine shop to bore it .040  and see if that cleans it up

if  not  any GOOD  machine shop  should be able to resleeve it

The problem is that it was rebuilt about 45k miles back and bored to .020 over already. There is a good sized gash in the wall from the edges of the broken piston. boring to .060 may get it done. So the question is do I just find a used block and rebuild it with my parts or do I try to fix this one.

thanks for the input, I appreciate it.

ok,  any  laser block  will work,  just use  turbo pistons  and rods

22RE  blocks  from 85 up  are laser blocks,   ie  they have a shorter deck,  11.080 inches oil pan to head
earlier 22R's  have 11.280  deck

and  the  block  will have a machined  port  on the drivers side  behind  the  serial number,  this  is  the "un bored" return hole  for the turbo  oil line

any late block can be used  then  just  bore that port out,  and  drill and tap  the bolt holes
