SAS shackel angle question
« on: Jun 14, 2007, 07:13:54 PM »
alright so i got an 87 4 runner and i'm doing a sas on it and i got the rear hangers all welded up and i got the front hanger mocked up so its sitting flush with the front of the frame and the shackles are stright vertical but theres no engine tranny or t case in it right now and just wanted to get someones opinion on it who has done this before if it will settle to a better angle once it has the engine tranny and tcase in and once the springs are broken in before i weld the hanger on. any input would be great

If they are sitting vertical, you will probably be fine.  The best thing to do is just tack the front hangar in place and assemble everything to set it down under it's own weight.  That way you can check the shackle angle properly.  My guess is that your angle will be fine as it is now.

The moter and tranny will add a lot of weight, i would just tack it together entill you get the drive train in just to make sure everything turns out right.
