Well this is going to be my first sas. A brief history on the truck, This use to be my dd now it's my dad's dd, it's stock right now, bought it for $1,000, then put a new tranny in it and timing chain and that's it. Plan's are to..

Plans:

sas w/toy fron't trail gear suspension(4" kit)
35" mtr's
Rear chevy's
Detroit rear(eventualy)
Dual cases(stock gears)(eventualy)
4:88's or 5:29's(eventualy)

Got this Complete fron't 83 from davez offroad for $350, Gettin it gusseted and rebuilt

Tomorrow i have to call up Trail-Gear

and have them send me some part's that they forgot to send out the first time ( steering box relocation brackets, frnt brake lines and motermount plates) it's all good though cause i have had great service from them and they shipped my stuff to my door step in one day with free shipping.

i would definitly go with 5.29's man, i just installed 5.29's in my 90 toy pick-up that has 35's and i am loving it!! i get better gas mileage its faster and when wheeling low-range is awesome. with my build i just keep telling myself just do it right the first time, then you dont have to go back and redo work, trust me it's worth it. even if that means you have to wait a little longer and save its worth it.

I'm running 5:29's in my truck but I am running 39.5" irok's and i think their great, Just didn't want to ruin this truck's purpose as a daily driver, I am also thinking that with just duals w/ no gears it might be a better rout to go 5:29's. I use to run 37's with 5:29's and thought they were great on the road. In other word's probably leaning towards the 5:29's. Thanks for the advice btw.

So today i got some chey's put on the rear. They bolted right up to the axel w/o any grinding, i moved my front hanger exactly 9.5" forward And didn't even move the rear shackle yet, i just have a very steep angle on the shackle for now, might just leave it what do you guys think? oh btw if your planning on doing the swap w/ ifs and no lift expect a lot of rake! Here are some pics

Hard to teel but when it sit's on level ground it sit's pretty raked in the rear

Havn't done anything with the shocks yet, orderd some 12" bilsteins (5150"s for the rear) I also plan on cahnging the perches to get a better driveline angle. waiting to do the fron't just in case i need to lift the rear more. will also install a u-bolt flip kit to..

Yep just temp., got the shocks, brake line and u-bolts for the rear in the mail today so will install those soon.

dude I have the same portatorch. looks great. dosent the torch run out quik they charge me 35 to exchange tanks.

Yep i filled it up already today and it's all gone, hopefully the local places around me are open tomorrow cause i still have to cut out the holes in the frame for the shakle tubes!!

use a drill with a hole saw. 15.00 home depot- milwaukee and go at an angle like the jig will go, it will work great real clean, oh yeah drill a hole first all the way through the frame for the right angle..

looks like the same torch kit they sell at harbor freight? the tanks are really small but the torch and all the tips that come with dont look bad.

Do you think that's a better way than using the torch? I going to get the tanks filled right know so I will be able to still use it.

I like the hole saw I makes a way cleaner hole. yeah I got my torch at lowes for like 299 or 399 I cant remember. good luck.

Ok so i got a lot done today will post pic's after this but i went to install the wheel hub and rotar onto the axel and it seems as if there is not enough threads after the two 54 mm nuts that hold on the wheel hub and rotar. What do you guys think it is, common problem? or is it ok?
