G52 TO A W56A
« on: Jun 12, 2007, 03:00:16 AM »
I  want to buy a 1985 22r toy pickup. It is a standard cab, longbed, 4x4. I think it has a g52 forward shift transmission and transfercase. I was wondering what type of modifications will need to be done to install a w56a top shift transmission and transfer case. Does any one have any knowledge of this modification and or is it worth the time? Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

                            thanks,Jeff

Yes it's worth it, it's a stronger tranny.  Length should be the same, only mods that may be needed is a slight moving of the hole in the floor for the shifters.

All this info could have been yielded in a search, that's what it's there for
