Just saying hello. I am a transplanted Bostonian living in Savannah, GA. My rig is a 1988 4X4 Toyota Pickup w/ 22RE engine and W56 5-speed transmission. I have 171,000 miles on this engine which is still going strong.

But I am having the dreaded transmission whine in all gears except 4th when I apply the gas. From what I have learned so far on the Toyota Forums, it's most likely my input shaft bearing.

Some day I would like to get a rebuilt Marlin Crawler transmission and clutch.

A good day working, that's just sick :reg:

You are so right. All it takes is money.  I'm tempted to drive across the country to Fresno so I know for sure that the job is done right.

Yes, I know. I'm planning to have Marlin send me a rebuilt transmission and HD clutch kit in the next month or so. But, it would be a great experience to drive out to the West Coast. Although, I doubt my truck would make it
