Hey all!  Just want to get the word out there that we are starting an annaul event in conjunction with Portola Railroad Days in Portola (Plumas County) CA!  I have attempted to attach the flyer, but if it does not work, let me know and I will send it to you!

We are building a rock course suitable for ALL Levels!  We have invited vendors, have a great raffle planned, have Airborne Ranger contracted and plan to have a great time!  We have vehicles donated for crushing, a log pit planned and many other obstacles and "freebies"!  We want this first one to go well, in hopes of having events more then once per year!  We have invited Marlin and his crew to join us as  vendor and participant!  We have received fantastic support from 4 Wheel Parts (Sacramento) in the form of $$, shirts, product, tires, Warn Winch's and as a vendor!  SoBe is also backing us with lots of product, $$, and goodies..Monster Energy Drink too...

So spread the word and we welcome all the ideas you may have!!  Wish us luck...Join Us and let's ROCK THE RAIL YARD

Woo-Hoo!
Me and my father happen to be lifetime members at the railroad museum... we hauled all those giant iron beams that are supposed to be a "building" but nobody wants to build it, so instead theyre probobly setting in your way :) We stumbled on that place years ago when when my dad used to log, and soon after starting going up regularly on the track meeting days, screwing around, working on the engines, and even getting quite a bit of "behind the wheel" time. It feels pretty good having that much power in one little lever... in that sick, Mad Max sorta way  :willynilly:

Anyways.. im glad to see somebodys finally doing somthing of interest in Portoilet... i mean Portola. Im gonna try like hell to be there. Ill bring my keys and sleep in the sleeper-car cause im a cheap lazy lil b*std

Sweet! My parents are members of the PLA (Pacific Locomotive Assoc.) They are working there way around the western states riding as many trains as are available. This weekend they are currently in Portland, OR. My dad is a conductor and brakeman in Niles Canyon Railway. He is kinda excited that its a 2 for 1 weekend ... sort of.

Im glad to hear it. Yeah, Portolas like... Gas station, Bar, The Frostie, Chinese food, Bridge, Steakhouse, Bar, Gastation, gone.
Its a one stoplight town  :driving:

I like the town though. I live in Oroville and had a friend move up there, so I used seeing her as an excuse to go trail around in the woods up there. Plus I grew up in Quincy, so i know the area pretty good.

Whats funny is when i first got my truck my father and I went up to kill some time and play around at the museum. When I was bored I went crawlin around some of the neat little trails in the back corner, and out around the baloon, and the whole time I was thinkin itd be awesome to get a group together and meet up at the museum and have some fun.
Then, boom, theres this

SAS done or not, Ill be there, and Ive already got a few people from oroville that are gonna go too, some of them taking their rigs too

Watch out for me, the metallic grey 90 yoat, with baja front fenders  :beerchug:

Any word on if Marlins gonna be there? Mike? anybody else?  Its a long ways, but itd be sweet to meet em  :crossed:

Just a heads up on Rockin The Rail Yard!!!  Plans have really been coming together!  We have several big time sponsors donating some GREAT stuff!!  4 Wheel Parts has upped their original donation (tires, Warn winch etc..) by even more!  We have several great donations from 4X4 stores in Reno and Sac.

The course is started and coming along fantastic.  We have little rocks to BIG rocks!  We have vechicles to run over, a log course, and are working on the travel ramps now.  This looksk like it is going to be a blast and a great first year!!

Pre registration is required, so check out the flyer and give a call!  Only $20 and you will get 2 days of fun wheeling,  raffel tickets, t shirts (not just one!), and LOTS of other goodies!!  This is a family event, so bring them all!  Any vehicle is welcome Buggies to daily drivers!!

Call Bob Frank @ (530) 836-2918 OR Kim Torri @ (530) 994-1005 or [email protected]

We will be taking registration via phone, collecting basic info, and will have the liability release papers for you to sign at the event, along with your goodies.  We thought this would be the easiest way until we see how the first year goes.  It is looking like we may have to limit the number of entries to 50-60, so call now!!  This is sure to be a great time in addition to all of the other activities held in conjunction with Railroad Days!  Last year alone there were 21,000 people in attendance on Saturday alone!  21,000 people in Portola, CA!!  Who would have ever thought!!
