Gun control post on craigslist

I fully support any decent law abiding citizen's right to purchase firearms. But do not agree with the way guns can be bought in this country and what the NRA does in this arena.

The NRA is a fine organization in some respects when it comes to teaching young children marksmanship and gun safety. I'm of the opinion that the NRA will not be happy until guns can be bought by anyone in a blister pack at your local Wal-Mart over the counter.  Don't believe me because it seems they think terrorists have the right to buy guns also.

Some might get their panties in a bunch.. I'm a gun owner, but I do not support the NRA on this issue.

I agree 100% with there standing on this issue.

like it said in the write up "suspect" means nothing and that is all that's needed to say you can't buy a fire arm.

Convicted, now that's another story. :yupyup:

kinda  like the dude  a couple weeks ago  that  attempted  to rob a  bank  near here with a knife  and  was met at the door  by  a couple  "good ole  boys"  that were  packing  more than a knife

:dunno:  As much as I don't like it, I have to agree with the NRS as as well.  A "suspected" terrorist is just that, a suspect.  If they are in the country legally, (born here or immigrated legally) we cannot take away their rights, just because we "suspect" something.  Innocent until proven guilty, remember?    At least their keepin a close eye on those that purchase them

Over emotional attention whores will always try and get worked up over something or other.  Grow up in or spend any amount of time in a small logging town and you'll see it.  Take a group of 100 calm adults having a productive discussion/argument on X subject, insert 1 loud hippy and guess who gains the lion share of attention?  Guess who gets a story written about them in the local rag, or worse yet airtime on the joke of a local news channel?  Not the 100 people who kept it civil, but the 1 loudmouth asshat who hasta jump up and down and scream over whatever subject they happen to be attaching themselves to.

I don't believe every single person should be allowed to walk into a store and buy any gun at any time, but I also don't agree with many of the restrictions placed on purchasing guns currently.
