Lifting an '07 TRD
« on: Apr 30, 2007, 04:04:15 PM »
My cousin asked my advice on lifting his '07 Taco TRD.  He is thinking of going with a 3" body lift just because the TRD already has the upgraded suspension.  I advised that a suspension lift is better in the long run.  He just wants 3" more, whether it's a body or suspension.  I told him I'd ask around for him :eyebrow:

Any product recommendations?  Since his truck is so new, I figured we'd research and see if anyone on here has lifted theirs and see what they recommend...

TIA

ttora covers this all the time, haha, thats why they are ttora..... the trs upgraded suspension isnt anything special, sure its higher than the stock not trd one, but its not great by any means..... the best thing is new coilovers.... donahoe racing, camburg, offer great stuff.... total chaos too.... tc is not jsut 2wds, they also do amazing stuff with the 4wds in way of long travel suspensions

That's what I told him, no body lift.  He just wants something simple.  The TRD already has the upgraded suspension so he didn't really want to mess with that.  But he may have to :disturbed:

I just put a 3" Old Man Emu lift on my 2007 DC TRD.  It rides better with the OME lift than stock.

It looks right now too.

As for not lifting without an SAS, I think anyone who spends the kind of money folks do to SAS a Tacoma and then beat the body to mush is an idiot, so there is my side of that coin.

These trucks are great family wheelers and do very well on the roads they are designed for.  Mine is damn capable for such a big ass vehicle.
