Taurus Fan Fitment Issues
« on: Apr 24, 2007, 05:08:43 PM »
Was working on my 82 tonight and decided to test fit my Taurus fan I picked up this weekend.
The motor won't clear my water pump.  :tantrum:

I'm going to assuming I need to trim some out of the shourd, correct?
Anyone have some info? I've searched on here and Pirate and didn't find much info on mounting the fan in an 82 with a 22R.

Having the same problem on my '79 20r.....I'm thinking about trimming some off the shroud, but I will wait to see. I know big mike or someone on here has put one in, but I can't find the post

Big Mike is running a 3RZ though.
I need to put a new water pump in it so I will check it out then.

When I did have mine in. I trimmed the housing and installed it upside down to clear the water pump and belts. I have a 80 toy and it was tight. I believe I also bent the radiator support brackets in about half inch. IT will fit...you just have to work with it. After the mods I did to get it in. I had about 1" clearance between the belt and fan motor.
