i have a bud with a 94-ish 4runner he wants to sell me for a grand. it needs a set of heads. it also comes with a spare truck minus motor for parts.

is this a good price. the body has some dings, but all in all it is in good shape.

i would just put some heads on it for now. it has an auto tranny too. the parts truck he is giving me has a 5 speed. would it be worthwhile to swap that while in there?

also, are the runners rear coils? id want to run a solid front axle, but how would front leafs/ rear coils do?

i am trying to decide between this and a 4 door sidekick to be built up with yota axles front and rear. i know zuks, but this yota stuff is foreign to me. it just seems like a decent price.

BUY IT UP... yes, the 5 spd would very much be worth every effort you put into it, trust me. I don't really know a lot about the rear coils, but i am pretty sure the rear is leaf. i have never heard ov anyong running coils in the rear, just the front..

MS, the rear axle in the 2nd gen 4runners (and up I think) were coils, not leafs
Sounds like a good deal to me, I'd definitely go for the 5spd swap.

Here's what a 94 that is SASed with leafs in the rear looks like. It's not the hardest fab work to do by any means but it's still alot of work from start to finish. Considering I was offered 5K for mine back when it was only on 33's and pretty much stock I'd say a grand is a steal!
