just my  :twocents: i like staying with the front to back set up because it helps with axle wrap.

if you go triangle to center  /\  it doesnt help anything but up and down.

hope this helps

Actually, it hurts up and down, but it improves articulation :yesnod:

Exactly

Mounted like | | = most effective, but limits travel
Mounted like / \ = less effective, but travels more
Mounted stock = helps prevent axle wrap, limits travel

So i guess this means that the method used depends on what your trying to get out of your application.  I dont feel that i have enough horsepower to worry about axle wrap and I'm going to go for articulation so I'll be doing / \   .

Mount them as vertical as possible without the shocks limiting your articulation.  (and mounted out as far as possible on the axle.)

I believe what Mike and Simp are getting at is given the SAME shock, it will allow for more articulation if tilted /\.    But if a shock mounted || isn't limiting your articulation, there is no reason to tilt the shocks inward.

I would rather buy a longer shock and mount it || than tilting my shocks /\.  If it can not physically fit where I want to put it, I would compromise and mount the shocks as vertical as I could without limiting my travel.

I put my lower shock mounts on the back side of the axle.
