99 4Runner SR5 Sport info...

Hey, I'm new to a Toyota, and I just got my hands on a 99 4Runner, SR5 Sport, and had a few questions about the drivetrain, etc...I come from a Jeep, so I know the jargon, but I have no idea what my new 4runner is equipped with. I know it has the e-locker in the rear, is it a good locker, will it handle bigger tires (33's)? Where is the motor located to active the locker? What is the rear axle, 8"? Anybody know what spline it is? What about the front? I don't know anything about IFS, so if anybody could help me out there, big thanks. Also, the transfer case? Is it gear or chain driven? Anybody know the crawl ration? Any other info on it? And what's up with all the weenie lifts I could find for it? The biggest I've found is like a 2.5-3.00"....I like the coil over fronts thou :) Somebody get together w/me,and let's fab somethin up! uh, I think that's about it, Thanks y'all! Antawn

Yes the e- locker is a very good locker very strong!  The motor is on the diff itself on the driver side if memory serves.  Your diff is an 8'.  The axles are 30 spline 1.31" shaft at the splines.  The transfer case is just a reworked chain unit that has been used since 88', but in reworking it toyota made it stronger an its a pretty decent case from what I here.  I wanna say the low range ratio is 2.3(?) but Im not sure.  Good luck in your project!  Its good to here you broke yourself of that nasty heep habit! ;)
