what size metal is everyone using to make the rear cross member after cutting down the frame.... this truck im buying has the rear end cut off but they never cross membered it.... ive seen where people have used square tubing but i was wondering what thickness.... im planning on welding on some d-ring tabs as well unless something thinks i shouldn't let me know!

1/4" is pretty beef. Put your tow points near the edges, cap the ends, and gusset the top and bottom of the shackle mounts.
If you still have control you aren't going fast enough

i used 2x3x.25 on mine and i have pulled in 2nd gear with 30 foot runs with no issues
