I'm looking for pic's of rear axle 'Anti wrap' bars mounted low on rear axle and to the frame, any suppliers websites would be greatly appreciated

trac bars or torque rods.... the torque rods are generaly referred to as panhard bars and keep the axle from walking

traction bars as for keeping both wheels planted

mounted low? or higher up for ground clearance?

Jimbo, sorry I'm a little slow on terminology, I'm looking to install traction bars just inside the rear leaf springs to counter-act the axle wrap due to the 5" lift kit with softride springs, I've seen these on chevy full size and the owners picked up these at 'Rancho', I'd like to weld them low but not below axle tube to an adjustable link bolted to the frame.

DanS,  you want 1  bar  on a single point  welded to the top  of the housing  over the differential   then run up to the crossmember just behind the cab

Glen, I'm looking for two bars, one at each side with adjustable links at each end, bolted to bracket welded to axle tube and other end bolted to bracket welded to frame, approx 2" inside of leaf perch!

The setup you are talking about would be sufficent but too much work. If you run a single bar that can slip and twist but not allow the dif to rotate up or down you would do half the work and still reciebe the same results. A jeep friend of mine uses a y type link with a shackle at the frame end for his track bar, and although it works well it hangs below the axle tube about an inch or so. He runs his track bar next to the diff.

Git, great info, I've viewed similiar setups on this forum but I'm not expecting this design to be easy, I would prefer a lower link/ geometry design but now with your idea of two points of contact on the axle tube, a 'C' shaped plate welded to the axle tube with the lower link not lower than the axle tube and the upper 2" above top of axle tube may be the way to go!

I havent seen the price list for those but its probably cheaper to buy rod ends and some tubing and do it yourself  their not that complicated and lots of people build them.  I know of someone that built some for his chevy trail rig.  As long as you can weld, and read you can probably turn them out in no time.  If you do the [ connection you can run one paralell to the ground and to the botom of you axle tube then the other on top and then reduced clearance isnt an issue.

These are from Jason (AKA POORBOY1)  hope he doesnt mind,  he's got an awesome chevy and heres the anti-wrap bar he built.
Hope this helps, I put a link to his build on the bottom think the anti-wrap bar starts around page 11 or 12.

A pic of the frame side joint,  to keep it flexin nice.

Heres the link for his rig,  it should be around where he built his bar,  like I said its real simple, and you can do two if you want one per side its no problem,  same desighn.
