My engine should be here Monday or Tuesday.  When I put it in I was thinking about using the MSD Offroad Isgnition module I got off a FJ40 I scrapped. Has anyon used these? Are they worth the trouble? Any adverse effecs on the combustion chamber if I put this in?

What type is it?  Are you talking about a 6 series box such as a 6a or 6al?  If so use it!! They are very good brains for the ignition.  You will get a bit quicker rev out of it more complete combustion etc.  Heck youll probobly get a bit of a mileage improvement too.

Do you need the tach module for the cruiser like you do for the mini trucks?

I've got one on my mini, can't say I've noticed any imprvments in how it runs. just used it cuze its cheaper than the stock box.

 It's the MSD6 Off Road

Milage would be good, I plan to drive it to Moab again. I just worry about more things that can go wrong. But if I put it in, I guess I will know how to take it off.

mine's been fine for two years now. I think that with the msd6 it now pings a bit more than with the stock box on it. but it runs just fine.  my stocker went out and did not want to pay for the stocker , so went msd6.
