I am building a runner. I am running out of money on this project! (no big surpise.....aren't we all!!

) I bought a 64in wide diamond front end. I am thinking about an FJ80 rear because.....

it's 63.5 wide..... good match for the front
full floater
rear disks
9in ring gear (not sure

if it is, I think it would hold 40's!)
all stock parts for easy replacements
I can get one for a smokin' deal

I know about all the brackets that would have to be cut off...no big deal. No, this one is not offset.

Is this a good idea or bad idea?

PS I searched but didn't find a whole lot of info on 80 rear's

I don't remember seeing anyone run an fj80 rear axle on anything beside the truck it comes in. I want to know the pro's and cons to running it. It seems to be a good answer to my problem ( not enough $$ for a custom rear axle...at least anytime soon) but not 100% sure.

I believe the FJ80 rear has an offset pinion.
