Input shaft bearing and Main shaft bearing...w56
« on: Mar 14, 2004, 01:48:40 PM »
hey all.
thanx so much for the help in my prior post.  i'm trying to figure out where the main shaft bearing lies in relation to the input shaft bearing on the w56.  i've seen folks mention these as two seperate bearings and i cant seem to find the main shaft bearing on my diagrams.
while i'm here.   where do ya'll get the FSM's ya'll are talkin about when rebuilding your tranny's?  i've got a haynes, but it's general stuff.
i'm trying to keep myself busy while the trucks parked and the cash builds up for a marlin rebuild.
thanx ya'll

The other mainshaft bearing is in the center cast iron housing in front of the reverse spur gear.
You should be able to get a detailed printout on the gear set from your local Toyota parts department.

A great place for factory manuals is e-bay
Just make sure they were made by Toyota.
