unclejs trailer ( upgrading)
« on: Mar 12, 2007, 04:32:46 PM »
well i traded in my 5X8   for a 6.9 X 10

Now the new trailer is used but is in good shape.

I got a biger trailer so i can pull 2 atv/stuff.  The trailer has a 3000 capacity,  wood deck,  big tires.

upgrades.
1. tie downs in the deck
2. D-rings
3. cut rail  make ramps 2 side load.
4. flip the leaf springs (for when my truck gets lifted higher)
5. toolbox on front
6. replace all lights with LEDs

you said flip the leaf springs..... that will work, but then your trailer will sit higher, and the ramps will be at a greater angle possibly making things harder to load.... would getting a drop hitch work better? then also the cog wont be effected

Flipping the springs is only about a 2-2.5 inch difference.  COG won't be a problem.

well im not worried about the ramp angle do 2  i have a 600CC moter and 4wd.
Also I allready have a drop   I DO NOT WANT a 5-7" drop hitch thats just gay/ not good for angle/dangle  on the frame/reciver.

I think it would be around 3" if i flip them .
The only thing i don't like is trailer axle tubes are bent  in the middle for weight mc=2 sqaure.   fliping it would have the bend facing down.

what is COG

Nice trailer.  I should be picking one up this week maybe next.  I am buying a tandem Axel car trailer off of a Buddy.  He is finishing his goosneck then I can buy the one I borrow from him all the time.
