Buddies trucks
« on: Feb 28, 2007, 07:06:26 AM »
Went wheelin with some buddies a couple of weekends ago, I didn't take my truck cause my bronco friend needed a copilot and never wheeled on this trail before. Everything went well for most of the day and then it flipped a total 180 on us.  Snow got too deep and everyone started getting stuck, really stuck.  We ended up having to leave a truck over night he was so stuck, that and girls don't like watching 5 guys dig trucks out for eight hours so they started to whine too much.

Anyways heres the pics.

This is the bronco stuck on the last hill to the main road.

Might not look like much but with 235/75 off brand road tires...he was setting on both axles.

And the tow truck, this thing is a wheelin beast, it's the only chevy i have respect for.

Lucky for us, it snowed about eight inches that night on top of the crap we were gettin stuck in. Didn't stop the ole Chev though me and the driver of the stuck bronco had to jump in the bed at a couple of places, to get some weight over the rear axles, but it plowed through everything for most of the trail.

Then this happened on the last hill to get to the stuck rig.

We where standing in the back of the truck when he hit that little tree, smashed my face into the cab of the truck and almost through Mikey out.  We were thinkin the airbags might go off from a hit like that, but they didn't.

Jared (the chevy guy) Had to drive down this ATV trail to get behind mike and pull him off the mounds that he was high centered on.

My other good friend pete, his jeep almost went up this trail to get around mike, but got stuck right at the trees.  The picture doesn't do the hill justice at all i was impressed that his jeep mad it as far as it did.

Pete's jeep. :outtahere:

Jared got the bronco pulled out and then after a couple of try's went right up where mike got stuck.

We hooked some chains up to the bronco, he followed jarads trail up and made it first try.  Gotta love those tire chains. :gap:

Mike and jared havin a victory smoke.

We made it out and back on to the road with ease after that.

And wouldn't ya know it, after all the hard work the chev had done some idiot in a duramax decides to ruin a good thing. :tantrum:

The tire is still hooked to the axle but the axles not hooked to the truck anymore. :scared:  RIP Chevy :moon:

More details please?

More details please?

Jared was on a north bound road turning west , duramax guy was going south on the same road but went around the two lanes of traffic (that was stopped at the light that had just turned red) in the right hand turning lane but still aiming to go south and hit jared as he was turning through the intersection.  Now the law states that traffic going straight has the right-a-way and that the person turning has to wait for all traffic to pass through the intersection before executing the turn.  but this guy used the turning lane as a through lane which is illegal. The cop tried giving jared the ticket, but the witnesses said the other guy was at fault and the cop gave jared a warning instead.

So the old chevy is gone, and this is it's replacement

06 GMC rollin on da twenty's, not a duramax and not the old tow truck but at least he has a pimp dd.

this snow was probably 4 feet deep and a pain in the ass. fun anyways though. rather be wheeling and stuck as hell then sitting at home posting pictures of it.

stuck up to me axles..... we broke three tow straps this night and left a huge dimple in my bumper when one of the tow hooks slingshotted up and hit it. oh well better then a brakelight or body damge. im building a new bumper soon anyways.
