I have a 2.4 litre diesel in my LN65 Lux and want to get into tuning it up. I know where to look for tuning screws on a carby, but what do I look for on a diesel?

I looked for the FSM that is around here for download, but the link doesn't work anymore.

Thanks for your help.

if its running rough,  put  some atf  in your fuel tank, go on and put a quart bottle in a  10 gallons or so,   that will clean your lines pump and injectors  spotless

after that  tank gets  close to empty it should be running better,   change your fuel filters  then  report back with how she's running

also how many miles is on the engine

I've replaced the fuel filter and am running some injector cleaner through it now. It has over 400,000 km's on it. I had to get a mechanic to fix the fuel pump as it was leaking and he said he set it up to run a bit richer in an attempt to give me more power. Only problem is it is going through diesel like there's no tomorrow, so I was going to fiddle with the adjustment a bit.

Only problem, I don't know what to adjust?

im not familiar enough with  the toy diesels  to tell  you how to do that  what i would suggest  is pulling the valve cover  and adjusting the valves  and injector  lash,  400,000   they NEED adjusting

shoot  for .008 "   on  all

I'd either take it back to the mechanic and ask him to return the setting to stock or try locating another fsm.  Have you checked toyotadieselmadness.com?  There are plenty of guys there running the 2L/2Lt, so finding some useful info should be fairly painless   http://toyotadieselmadness.com/
