2000 Ford Excursion 4x4. 7" Lift, 36s, bling......
« on: Feb 12, 2007, 03:28:37 PM »
2000 Excursion Limited. V10, 98K, 4x4. 7" Donahoe Racing lift. Deaver Springs on all four corners. Bilsteins on all four corners. Lift was installed one year ago. 35x12.5x16 SSRs. Will fit 37-38" tires too though. Xtreme Alloy chrome wheels. Leather with no rips or tears, six disc changer. A/T temp guage, Voyager Brake Controller, pwr everything, heated seats, heated mirrors. Full loaded tow rig. Also has the HD 4.30 gear package on it.

I love this rig, but its time for something different.

No trades at this time.

Asking $14,900 obo. I have over $4000 in the lift, tires, and wheels alone(without labor). I need it gone in a hurry. I am meticulous in my maintenance on this rig. Synthetic oil always used. Everything works as it should. Balljoints recently replaced in front axle with Moog parts. Milemarker stainless steel hub upgrade up front to get rid of the POS auto locking hubs.  Also had the 100K mile dealer maintenance done(plugs, wires, filter, etc) last year.

Located in SoCal. Willing to deliver within 250mi for the cost of gas.

It had Iroks Radials on it when the lift was installed. It now has SSRs though. The SSRs are about a 35.5" tire though. The pics is just for reference for the wheels. They are the same.

Who
What's the MPG?

Who cares its a tow rig......LOL

Actually it gets around 10mpg around town and 12-13mpg on the hwy. Towing is around 10mpg.
Its not a diesel, but that may be a good thing too. Diesel is $3.00 gallon right now. And, you're only gonna get 16-18mpg with it. But, you're also gonna spend $7k-10K more for a diesel.

The V10 gets a bad rap IMO. I have owned two of them and never had an issue with either one and would rather have it than a diesel anyway. MUCH Cheaper oil changes, cheaper gas, and it tows just as good unless you're over 10K lbs on the ass end.

My diesel F-350 doesn't do much better for mileage. I find your numbers with a V-10 quite extraordinary.
If you still have control you aren't going fast enough

Huh, that is what the V10 on both my rigs averaged. I had a 99' F350 CC, DRW, LB. 4.30 gears and no matter how I drove it I got 11 in the city and 13 on the hwy. The Excursion got 12 in the city and 14mpg on the hwy stock. I commuted in it a little(about a month) and got that before I lifted it. After the lift it obviously dipped. The odometer was off by 18% because of tire size going from a 31 to a 37. I adjust for that in my head. The lie-o-meter on the overhead console averages 8.9mpg right now(without the 18% adjustment). That is without adjusting for the tires and that is with my wife driving around town 75% of the time. On a long trip I will average 10.5-10.9mpg on the odometer on the hwy. I have done that to Vegas on a couple occasions as well as trips to Norcal, etc. And, that is doing 75-80mph on the freeway. That adjusts out at 12.7-13.1 mpg.

Like I said. The V10 gets a bad rap. Don't believe me(?), I can prove it.

Good luck on the sale Scotty. I saw this at the AP event, very nice and clean. My wifey has the same vehicle (with the DVD for the kiddies :king:) and she gets the same milage numbers. 10 around town and towing, 13,14 on the fwy. We are just about ready to trade it in after 7 years and 110K on the clock for new Denali. 8)
