« on: Feb 25, 2004, 12:29:19 PM »
Hello all.

Check'n in to say hello!  I have a 91 Yota p/u..  Stock for now, but the 22re is out and I am rebuilding it.... Hopefully I will have it doen soon so I can start on other things like an SAS swap, and get some Marlin parts on it etc.

Welcome to the board! So are you doing any mods to the motor while it's out?

Red_Runner - Mine had a broken timing chain guide and coolant leaked into the oil pan.  So while I had the front off I pulled the head to redo it.  Then pulled the bottom end from the truck and may redo it also since I have it out.    All I have are a couple driveway shots from when I borugh it home.  I'll post em, but dont laugh!   :disturbed:

84runner - So far not really...  I just got a reman head with an "RV" cam...  Probably just keep it pretty stock...

Future plans for da Yota - 33's or 35's, SAS, Canback(already got rid of that crappy cap that in the pics), new clutch, tranny rebuild, etc....

Thanks.  It's bone stock now with the 22re pulled out for a rebuild.  Origianlly it had a timing chain guide failure.

That axles a little far.  I know where there is one around here(about 60 miles away) for $150..  :)  But thanks!!!

Welcome Krylon! Have you checked out LC Engineering? They may have a few things you wanna "throw" in that 22RE. I got their Master Rebuild Kit and so far my four popper runs great (It has 294,000 miles on it!!!) Also, what SAS kit are you gonna use?
85 P/U, 5.29's, ARB's, 5" Skyjacker front w/ shackle, 5" Chevy rear w/ shackle+buggy,in cab cage, Ford shock hoops etc. I WANT CROSSOVER!!!

Yes, I have been over to LC E...  So far I have everything for except new rockers/shafts and the bottom end done.  I should have the whole bottom end apart this weekend and then I'll take the block to get cleaned, checked and redone...  Then figure out what pistons, rings and bearings I will use.  I am kinda leaning toward KB Hyperu pistons just cause I know they're a good quality(have them in my 383 stroker).....

On the SAS.  I will probably build my own front crossmember unless I get lazy(which I do often)...  If I buy parts, I have been looking at them all - Marlin, All-pro, Sky, etc....  The crossmember doesn't look hard to make...  I wanna get the axle and probably the springs(possibly AP 3") before I start on that...

Newbie.  Yup thats me.  Well lets see, I live in North Hills Ca. and I drive a 85 Runner with a Tacoma 2.7L swaped in. Currently running a W56 with a Marlin double case and 5.29's in the diff. I've got a detroit in the back, and right now my front is open. I plan on putting a tacoma rear axle in the back and a FJ80 frontend in the front some time in the future.
