I have an 89 toy with a 4 inch suspension lift. And I was wondering if I got a 3 inch body lift could I fit 37 mt/r's under my truck without doing any cutting. I have a friend at school that has a 4 inch suspension lift with a 2 inch body lift and he fit 37 mt/r's under his rig without cutting anything. So let me now what you think?

Well if your buddy has 1" less lift then you and can clear them I would assume you could clear them too, right?

:nope:  I had to cut mine with a 4" suspension and a 3" body with those tires.  They rubbed on the firewall under any kind of flex, and in the rear wheel wells when stuffed.  So for a mall crawler, no you won't need to cut, but otherwise, you'll want to.

You'll want to trim that lower bumper valance, and the part of the fender by the firewall as well.

91, so same body style as yours

I have a 89 with no body lift and SAS with 4" springs  and I just BARELY rub the innner fender (at full comp and turning). Just beat that pinch weld down with a BFH. you should be good.

'89 Yota, do you have a SAS, or an IFS suspension lift.  That does make a difference

I still have the IFS, and the 37"s did rub under compression.

buy the 37's put them on and then go from there

if they run small like my 35 mtrs that measured 33" when I took them off.  you should be fine.  I fit 36 tsls with 6" lift (just pounded the seam flat up fron with a hammer) other than that no mods.
Now I don't run fenders when I wheel, cut the rear fenders and run 39 iroks on the same 6" lift.  You must have your axle moved forward if you don't want to tub the firewall.  (like rears up front.)  hope it helps.  I say just trim your fenders and keep it low.  I wouldn't mind less lift myself

he still has IFS i dont think its a good idea to run that big of a tire on an ifs front suspension. Stick with the 33's or maybe 35's  :twocents:

Meh, its fine.  I ran 37" MTRs, dropped to 35" BFG MTs when the MTRs wore out, couldn't afford the 37"s again.

Since I've been wheeling it (4 years) , I've only broken 3 axles   And IFS axles are cheap

no offense to u BD but he isn't a very experienced wheeler, and drives on the highway more that the trail i just think a smaller tire would sute him. IMO. Plus he's still running stock 4:10's

 gotcha.

If he's a newbie wheeler, then I would certainly recommend a smaller tire.  The more experience you get wheeling a less built rig, the better driver you'll be down the road

4.10s and 37"s, not a good match :nope:
