I am about to order the folowing tire http://www.intercotire.com/site36.php
I am just concerned about tire life as I use my truck to work and back and long trips. Should I look for something else in the swamper range? I currently have GY MTR's.

your not going to get good road life out of any swamper

I have heard that about LTBs...I guess having them mounted on a spare set of wheels for wheeln trips is not an option?

If $ is tight, checkout Dunlop Radial Mud Rover or browse the classifieds for a deal on some BFG or GoodYears.

I doubt you're going to get very good wear with that tire and if you are driving long distances that bias ply tire is going to beat you on the way too. None of the swampers are going to wear like a bfg or your mtr's but if you're looking for more aggresive you'll have to sacrifice some. I used to run SSR Swampers on my daily driver/wheeler and seemed to get pretty good life out of them. They are radials so they ride better but they're still aggressive. Some people had problems with cutting sidewalls on them but I never encountered that. It will depend on the type of wheelin you do as to how tough the tire needs to be.
