Marlin Crawler rear bumper with 2" body lift?
« on: Jan 20, 2007, 01:45:43 PM »
I would like to know, how hard it would be, to make new mounts for the rear and front bumper for a 2" body lift.  If any one has any pictures of an 85-89 4runner with a two inch body lift and marlins rear or front bumper, post away!  I really like the bumper, I just don't think I will like it 2" too low.  I do have a welder. How much rework would be needed?

Thanks,  I would appreciate that.  I posted in the Customer Service and On-Line Product Support and got no reply.  I really like their design. I would pay more if I could get a two inch lifted bumper.  PM me if ya find out any thing...I don't mind waiting for a nice bumper. :beerchug:

Ive got one on a 2" body lift. took 3/8 plate steel and welded on the inside of the bumper mounts and extend 2 inches down, redrilled holes and bolted up. took about an hour and have no issues, has been in the same spot for almost a year. pulled a boat all summer and many jeeps that tried to follow.

i didnt know that marlin would modify one and the time but i took measurements on the 2 styles they had and i used the 79-85 on my 91 cause the frame was a little wider and I could get away with welding 3/8 steel on the inside and it still fitting. in your case you could probly use the 86-95 and weld on the outside to achieve the right width, but if marlin will make you one than i would go that route. if not this is my  :twocents:
