Chico Area Wheelin on The 27th! (Clay Pits)
« on: Jan 19, 2007, 03:27:38 PM »
I was planning on joining lilbuddy's snow trip, and had planned some additional visiting of some friends around the trip.  Since the trip is cancelled, we're still planning on heading up there for the weekend, and wouldn't mind getting in some wheeling of any sort if there is anything relatively close thats pretty good :dunno:

Be happy to have anyone join us, if we figure out a place to wheel

:dunno: I've never been to either one, so if you're still free on the 27th, you want to head to one or the other?

if you are going to the clay pits form chico take 99 south turn left on Highway 169 then right on larkin rd.
i checked out the clay pits yesterday, the rocks are cool but i can only see them being that way for about a half hour. the rock pile is about 40' X 25' maybe but some good size boulders. I wont make it on sat. we are going to check out moonrocks instead. have fun

I'm thinking about heading down around mid day to check it out.  Talking about meeting up with some other guys.  Moon Rocks would be bad ass, and if it doens't snow soon I'll plan a trip there, but I got to be in town Saturday pm.

Cool, Shouldn't be able to miss eachother.  I've got a silverish cruzer with a tube front end.  I posted it on a local board as well, so we'll see how many people show up.

Bring your guns too, the shooting range is right next to the clay pits. You can take your broken parts and blast them into little(r) pieces.

ok everyone so i cant make it tomorrow because i have to work at noon. the pile is actually a lot smaller than i expected but its fun. i went through it one way which seemed to be the easier way (its in the shape of a rectangle) and then i tried to hit it backwards but got denied. theres a big spot towards the end or begining which ever way you hit it and it can swollow a 40"ish tire pretty well next to a SHARP rock!. my wheel base is LONG so thats what kept me from going only about half way through and i didnt feel it was worth it to hammer down. needless to say it was fun here are some pics.

got my diff cover welded on before i left. glad i did cause i hit it numerous times.
