3.4L into 1st gen 4-runner/pick-up

Anybody ever attempted this and if so what was involved? Besides getting over the initial cost of the motor I think this would be a great idea. The 5-speed is a R150, same family as R151 so I would think it sould be compapable? Please pm me if anybody has more info.

the transfercase is on the wrong side on the tacoma and tundras so u will have too get a adapter for it but i think the trannys out of the 3.0 t-100 trucks and transfer cases are the same pattern so that would work and the front output is on the right side too.

A first gen pickup and a first gen 4runner have a much different  engine bay. First gen runners look like 2nd gen pickups It's all doable, just get EVERYTHING from whatever donor vehicle you chose-keep the harness as initially unbutchered as you can, make sure it runs before you start pulling stuff apart. After you weed out all the optional stuff on the harness, plug it back in and make sure it still runs. Have fun
