A while back, I was cruising on the highway in my 89' v6 pickup and out of nowhere my engine just completely shut off. After getting towed back etc. my mechanic said that my mass airflow sensor quit and caused a short which destroyed my wiring harness. After swapping in a used one  harness and MAS, the truck drove fine but then again the same problem. After checking the harness again it turns out that a few of the wires were not installed properly. After fixing this, finally my truck has been straight for about 7000  miles. My question is: has anyone else had this problem before? Besides the MAS going out, could there be any other causes? Does the MAS just quit after so many miles or is there something that causes this? :driving:

Hey yotacrawler85,
I'm definately not an expert here but all I know is that if the MAS goes out then the engine completely shuts off, no fuel, no starting, nothing.
I wonder what Marlin thinks of this??

When the key is turned on, engine off, the pump runs for a few secounds to pressure the system and then shuts off. The air box door will move from the engine turning over which connects the fuel pump contacts in the air box, and the fuel pump runs.
