1GR-FE 4.0L V6: Any Swaps?

1GR-FE 4.0L V6. The 2005+ Tacoma V6.  Anybody heard of anybody swaping one of these into an earlier truck or 4runner? I don't know enough about them to know what the problems might be.

I'd be interested to know if you could run one of these with an aftermarket ecu, like a megasquirt, but maybe they have variable valve timing that needs to be controled as well? -- Matt
