Looking forward to talk about mods for my toy.  Has anyone tried to place 4.7 in the transfer case to get better drivability on the highway instaed of gears in the diff?  I have an 84 4runner sr5 w/ a 4 inch lift and 33's.  I'm looking at getting some horses added to the engine from LC.  Its an everyday driver and I take trips through the desert whenever possible.  Also looking at the dual setup but my t-case leaks from the seals at the drivelines.  Its a slight leak and noticed it when replacing u-joints.  Also does the twin stick shifter work on a dual setup so one would not have to cut the floorboard?  Take it Easy

Hey man welcome.  The twin will work on dual or single case setups.  And by putting 4.7 in the case only changes your low range gears not your 2 wheel range gears therefore will not help in driving on the freeway

Thanks for the info guys.  I guess I'll start off with some 4:88 then dual my puppy.  Would you rebuild you t-case if it leaked only when you pulled a driveline, or just let it ride?    Oh is anyone in Vegas..........maybe we can get together and make a run.

84runner

what do you mean by leaking only when you pull a drive line?

It shows no leakage of fluid from t-case, but when I remove the driveline some 90w pores out.  Its like it leaks behind the nut that you can see with the dl off.

How many miles on that t-case?  It sounds like the splines might be worn on the shaft of the flange
