'79 trans options?
« on: Nov 27, 2006, 07:52:23 PM »
can i use a stock '79 trans behind a 22r or not, i want the standard trans and dual cases in the future. i have been told the 20r and 22r bellhousings are the same but i'd like to hear from someone who seems to know.

It will work by why? The l43 is a inferrior transmission. Find a 1st gen five speed or at least a 82-83 4speed for a direct replacement.

now im gonna really  throw you  :haha:   get you a good  22R block  from a 80-84  and put everything from your 20R  on that block,   basically giving you a 2.4 liter  20R motor

i ran one for years,  and will again when i  blow this 22R  up

where are you located??
