yup still got the 2.4 mate but its starting to suffer from the serious abuse and neglect ive been dishing out (as has the rest of the truck) so plans are in the making for (if itll fit) a 4.2ltr v12 jaguar engine and auto box mated to the hilux transfer box and axels. a mate of mine is currently fitting the same stuff into his suzuki vitara so any issue will become evident with his build first, here a link to his build..its nuts

yup :eyebrow:, its a hell of an engine mate, puts out bout 300ft/lbs of tourque and 300bhp as standard . to my knowlage its never been done so id like to be the first to do it. the real issue will be the weight of the thing. im waiting to see how tonys springs cope before  i make any final desisions as to what front suspension to fit. this is assuming it fits in me truck (i think it will with abit for saw and hammer fettling)

what engine is tony running in his truck?

itll be an interesting swap for sure...may have to stretch the front end out and run the super heavy duty springs..

tony is running the jag lump and auto box mated to the hilux transfer box and axels and springs. im hoping that i will get round having to stretch the front end by moving the rad and fan into the rear and doing a flip front. im hoping that itll go in there as it looks about the same lenth the 6pot landcruiser and supra lumps people have fitted but i may have to chop out some of the front panel work to give enough room for the pullies and make up some custom headers , inlet manifolds and run twin snorkles with the airfilters on the end instead of airboxes under the hood. the main problem i think will be the break servo and master cylinder fouling the head  so i may have to make a new linkage  and move it out a little. like i said any major issues will become evident on tonys vit so ill have plenty of oppertunity to figure out a solution before diving in
theres a company not to far from me that can make up springs to suit so that shouldnt be to much of an issue

the engines come in to sizes, 4.2ltr and 5.3ltr   and rev to bout 6500/7000 rpm :eyebrow: ..... should be nice and tourqey  im opting for the 4.2ltr as they are more common and easier to tune up

awesome.

for being a V12 it doesnt sound like they are a very big engine at all.

so a meter is a little over three feet Standard, meaning like 2 feet wide. so it sounds like its not that much bigger than a Chevy 350, which is a popular swap in the US

with all the pullies the v12 is probebly abit longer but yeh i reckon its about the same size too. unfortunately such engines as the 350 are ubber expensive and hard to find unmolested in the uk, even our rover v8 is becoming very rare, most people are starting to opt for a v6 ford lump.

yea, i was just using it as a reference for a size comparison. should be fun swapping in though, makes plenty of power. is the toy running gear going to hold up to the power?

it should be ok, there are guys out there running more power on manual gearboxes without trouble but i know what im like so ill stick with the jag 3 speed auto box, that should  help stop any 'sudden jolts' for the transfer box and axels to cope with and itll certainly help with fitment issues. i will however be giving the yota running gear a good going over just to be on the safe side along with a stronger accelarater pedal spring to help stop my lead foot slamming into the floor  to easily
