I got the passenger side nerf bar/rock slider welded on today.  Will get the drivers side welded on on thursday and then i can paint them and take pictures on the weekend.

Did you weld the tubing straight to the frame?  Or did you use a piece of flat plate?

Hyena

straight to the frame.  I know it might bend the frame.  But i have a couple supprot bracket things that will be welded on.  Hopefully the 4 supports and the brackets will keep the frame from bending.   :dunno:

84runner

make a gusset for each side of the tubing to the frame and you should be ok

Red_Runner

Hyena

I got the other one on today, a couple more welds and they will be done.  Finally!  Now, my fuel pump is clauged, gotta get the replaced this weekend.

Hyena

replaced my fuel fliter, hopefully that helps the problem of starting up slow.  I also cut out my front finders, it looks sweet.

Hyena

I found a picture of my truck when i first got it, gone through a lot of changes.

Red_Runner

that was one nice toy now its no its way to be one bad toy

Hyena

I found some chevy springs on Pirate for $125.  I might just get them if he can meet me.  He lives in Petiluma i think.  They would help a lot with the flex.

Red_Runner

yah my buddy has them on his 84 long bed they flex pretty good

Hyena

here are my half doors, i made them with a friend.

Red_Runner

hay they look pretty good I have some spar door how hard will it be for me to make some?

Hyena

Its really not that hard.  You jst have to lay out what you want it to look like.  Cut it out with a sawsall or a plasma cutter (use a friend for the sawsall as it will vibrate uncontrallibly)  Then you need to fabircate something to open the door.  I just cut the origonal door opener rod and bent it into a circle.  I can pull it to open it.  I then put 2x4 wood on the gap, put carpet padding on it, then used a leather type material.  It didn't take too long.  I also helped built some for a friend last week.

Hyena

I picked up a dual transfercase and i put on my chevy springs.  All i have to do is install my dual cases and it will be awsome, i hope.

Red_Runner

man you are moving pretty fast with that rig Im still saving to rebild the motor but im thinking of selling my rig right now need the $$$$$$$

Hyena

I saved up my money, and plus im only 17 and i live at home, don't have to pay rent.  But right now i have ideas for a front dif guard and i still have to reinforce my front bumper, and install the cases.  and now i need new rear shocks, my 5012 i have on there aren't long enough.  i will get some pics of my flex with the chevies tomarrow, without rear shocks.

Hyena

here are the crappy pics with the chevies.  I was getting mad because the double shackles werent even extending all the way.  The shocks were off because i didn't know if they were long enough.
